Hughes could face FA punishment over Arnautovic abuse

|

markoStoke manager Mark Hughes could face FA sanctions after he verbally abused his former player Marko Arnautovic as he was substituted.  The Stoke manager appears to say  “f*****g ungrateful f****r” as he left the pitch.

Hughes could face FA disciplinary chiefs for misconduct or bringing the game into disrepute. BBC Match of the day producers decided to leave the incident in their coverage where lip readers could clearly make out the insult.

Arnauotvic was constantly abused by Stoke fans throughout the game which led him to celebrate his goal against his former club as well as making the crossed hammers sign and touching the West Ham badge on his shirt to show them he is a proud Hammer.

The goalscorer went straight down the tunnel after his substitution as Stoke fans threw items at him as he came off the pitch.

Mark Hughes is now the 1/4 odds-on favourite for the sack as a Premier League manager.

Well Stoke , welcome to the club . We’ve been through it ourselves with a handful of players . Not just one . The fans know to those I am referring to and so no need to mention names .
It hurts , we know but , you did let him go and he didn’t want to stay . The question is why .
Just as we. wanted to know why . There was of course no real answer , never .
He was provoked into celebrating and provoked into playing playing his skin off . If you had left him in peace the result could very well have been different .

Mr Hughes knows the writings on the wall and his disgraceful actions on the sidelines were a sad sight to See !!
The premier league managers all know the score….it’s a results and numbers game £££€€€$$$$. When the results wane your in trouble big time …
I hope he’s proud enough to resign and not get sacked …..better still, Stoke pay him his contract in full to go and keep it as amicable as possible …The premier league takes no prisoners or hostages …..RELEGATION IS A NIGHTMARE

You would think fans had learnt by now.Amazing how often a player comes back to haunt his old club and seems to play a blinder the more abuse he gets. Its the only way to get back at them.As for Hughes, He is an unprofessional peasant, never liked him as a player either.

Very distasteful from Hughes, who probably had to find a scapegoat for the bad spiral they are in right now. Still inexcusable language and behaviour.

They had plenty of good games and sold him for a record fee then booed him relentlessly not sure about who was being ungrateful?

Arnie became a hammer proper yesterday , his celebrations were a welcome site and the crossed arms went a long way even to his doubters , he’s clearly settling in now , well played mate 👍 I’m not going to mention the welsh dikead because he’s exactly that ! A dikead , 😎
Pleased for sakho as well getting on the score sheet , took his goal well! Mad to let him go in Jan IMO ? 😕

Agree Laz. And I would happily kept Sahko if we could work out something.
And if Lanzini is going to get punished for doing dive yes he went down easy but was contact Delph s was worse & never mentioned Zaha Rashford Sterling etc. And Alli’s could on KDB. Then Hughes should be too
      The FA is a joke
