One gets the feeling that Queens Park Rangers have spent the last two weeks itching to turn up at the London Stadium and put one on West Ham.
The Hammers face their next London derby on Friday night in Stratford and, despite a few injury concerns, sixth-placed QPR will be ready to give Nuno Espírito Santo’s boys a bloody nose.
The visitors will certainly have plenty of backing. QPR have officially confirmed that supporters have snapped up their entire allocation of 3,001 tickets.
Such has been the demand for tickets that Rangers forums are packed with fans frenziedly trying to get seats in the home end.
West Ham cannot underestimate QPR
I’m not reading too much into early reports of an injury crisis. Before the international break, Millwall had nine players ruled out and still managed to make life extremely difficult for West Ham.
Therefore, it is no surprise that QPR will arrive with their tails up. However, as a West Ham fan, I’m looking forward to it too.
England’s thumping 7-0 victory over Croatia aside, I haven’t particularly enjoyed this international break. Three weeks is far too long.
Let’s get back to the football and what should be a humdinger of a London derby under the lights.
