Illness strikes down two Irons for Saints game

|

Felipe Anderson and Declan Rice will both miss today’s game through illness and Robert Snodgrass is absent as he sees out a one match suspension.

Anderson has suffered a gastric complaint but only pulled out finally at noon whilst Declan was described to CandH by a source inside the club – speaking on the phone – as “simply poorly.”

The pair have been ever presents this season and their absences make room for Grady Diangana and Pedro Obiang with Manu Lanzini returning to the play making role.

There is also a place for Jack Wilshere on the bench as the Hammers look to end the London Stadium season with a win over Southampton.

Rice is thought to be in recovery from his health worry but simply didn’t feel well enough to do himself justice this afternoon.

This of course could be the last home game for one of two squad members with Obiang being tipped for a summer departure along with Adrian and Lucas Perez.
