Noble wants double celebration today

|

Mark Noble is convinced – like most hopefully – that the Hammers have a tremendous chance of going out with a bang at the London Stadium this afternoon.

Southampton are no pushovers but on our recent form we must have an outstanding of grabbing the win and a double over the south coast club.

The squad seem to have finally got it and are starting to perform like the big team demanded of them by the manager – a slip in standards in the last LS 90 minutes of the campaign simply won’t do.

OK, we’e seen the good followed by the bad and downright ugly too often this season but after Chelsea, Man U, Leicester and Spurs it does feel a lot different as the brand of football improves by the game.

Saints are very much their to be beaten this afternoon and I’, going for a cheeky 3-1 to end the season with that bang.

Noble told www.whufc.com: ““I hope we can continue playing like we did at Tottenham last weekend and we have over the last month because if we do, then we have a fantastic chance of winning,

“We’ve really played well in the last month and I think, if we can play like that at home, with our fans, against a Southampton team who are safe so the game is sort of a bonus for them, we can finish high in the table.

“It’s been an up and down season but, all in all, I think it’s been a really good season. I think we’ve played some fantastic football and I think the fans will be buzzing this afternoon because of the result at Spurs last week.”

The captain also sent best wishes to Matt Beard and his players for this afternoon’s Women’s Cup Final at Wembley saying: “It’s a fantastic achievement and it’s a bit of shame the fixtures couldn’t be changed so we could all go and watch, but I wish them all the best.

“They’re playing against a really good side in Manchester City but what a fantastic day for them, playing at Wembley. It’s an unbelievable achievement, so I really do hope they do well.

“They’re good bunch who we see around the place at Rush Green a fair bit, so we all wish them the best in the final.”
