Inter Milan full back Davide Santon has reportedly flown into London ahead of talks and a medical with West Ham say the Daily Mail this afternoon. The 25 year old Italian will discuss a season-long loan which will cost the Hammers aroudn £500,000 with an option to make it permanent for £5m next summer.
West Ham are said to have become frustrated with Norwich City’s £5m valuation of Martin Olsson and have now turned their attention to Santon instead. The Hammers have also been linked
The Hammers are said to have had a £8m bid for Robbie Brady rejected and a £3m offer for Martin Olsson rejected. The Irons are said to be tracking as many as eleven left backs as they attempt to find urgent cover for Aaron Cresswell who will be out of action up to four months.
Ludwig Augustinsson, Andy Robertson, Kieran Gibbs, Cahrlie Taylor, José Enrique, Wendell, Danny Fox and Rico Henry are just some of the left backs linked to us in recent weeks.
COME TO DADDY!!!
This will be a smart loan move to cover Cressie & he can play both LB & RB.Win,win 🙂
I thought he could be a reasonable signing when the mackems where after him.He has premier experience, can play both positions & as a loan for now will be good business IMO.
Great news now we have cover on both sides, let’s hope the others ca stay fit
Norwich will be kicking themselves for not taking the money and now have a pised off player who will join us next year for nada,
We could still do with a central defender who is flexible but there are a couple of freebies about who are world class and it’s no hurry
Really hope all the non signers will regret not signing .
Good signing imo
