Introducing the Under 23s ….Xande Silva

|

In a new series from CandH Josh Southon takes a look at key figures in the Under 23s squad who currently have gone 13 games on the bounce undefeated.

Xande Silva signed for Hammers academy over a year ago now back in August 2018.

He is seen as a striker essentially but can play as a wide man and is very much in the minds of people at the club with only two front men available currently.

The exciting prospect had an unpleasant bowel issue over the summer but is expected to be returning in October and could potentially be available to play during the next round of the Carabao Cup if we overcome Oxford.

The bowel problem came after a badly interrupted first season where he suffered various injury issues but managed seven goals from eight games.

The fact that he has been promoted to the first team squad for Chicharito while still in the recovery process shows how highly Pellegrini rates him

The 22-year-old Portuguese striker joined us for a total fee of £1.35million  on the 2nd of August 2018 and has since returned that seven from eight goals tally  with one assist.

Obviously a serious future looks assured if he can stay away from the injury jinx.
