Irons eyeing Europa League winner

|

West Ham are interested in a deal to sign Filip Kostic this summer and have opened talks with Eintracht Frankfurt over a deal.

C&H can confirm reports that the Hammers are eyeing up a potential deal to bring the left wing-back to the London Stadium.

Kostic played a key role in Frankfurt’s Europa League triumph, scoring twice against Barcelona and also laying on an assist in the final against Rangers.

David Moyes is keen to bring in reinforcements at left-back to provide support and competition to Aaron Cresswell and Kostic appears to be the favoured target.

Kostic only has a deal at  Frankfurt until 2023, so the German club may be willing to cash in this summer. He would cost around £18m.

The Irons were also interested in signing Hoffenheim’s David Raum but he now looks poised to join RB Leipzig.

It has led to Moyes shifting his focus and a bid for Kostic could now be in the offing as the Irons aim to continue strengthening their squad, having already signed Nayef Aguerd, Flynn Downes, and Alphonse Areola.
