Tottenham Hotspur are believed to be on the trail of West Ham wonderkid Daniel Rigge in an effort to beat Arsenal and Manchester United to the youngster’s signature, according to ESPN.
At 18 years old, Rigge is an incredibly talented player who signed a 2-year contract extension in October this season. The West Ham Academy had poached the attacking midfielder from Manchester City’s youth team, and he has flourished since joining the Hammers.
The leaked news seems like a cheeky attempt by Spurs to try and unsettle the West Ham youngster. However, the North Londoners have little or no power in the situation given Rigge’s contract.
The fact that so many of West Ham’s academy players are coveted by other Premier League clubs further emphasises the need for David Sullivan and Tim Steidten to recruit a manager who is willing to give youth a chance in the first team.
He can go……..but tell ’em the price is £100m plus!!
