Irons fan sets up GoFundMe page for Rice contract

|

A Hammers fan has set up a GoFundMe page through which he hopes other supporters will provide cash towards Declan Rice’s new contract.

The story has appeared online in The Sun tonight and the fund raising page can be found at https://www.gofundme.com/declan-rice-new-contract

The board have so far offered Rice a £20k a week wage with money on top but so far there is no sign of acceptance from the player or his agent who is believed to want a basic wage of £30k with fewer extras.

The fan said: “Declan Rice reportedly wants a new 40k a week contract. That’s about £2million a year.

“Let’s raise the funds to pay for the first year of the contract our future captain desires #coyi”

The campaign, which was created on Sunday evening, is yet to have anyone pledge any money.

Great idea. Let’s throw more of our hard earned at a teenager who already has an offer on the table which is likely to pay him over £2m per year, with regular increases built in to the deal. That he is currently willing to go without a rise of up to £37,000 per week should indicate to everyone that he has other things in mind. He has already displayed his brand of loyalty and gratitude to Ireland and Martin O’Niell so there is not much reason to expect any different behaviour towards our club.

Unnamed? clearly says Greg Richardson from Birchington, South East England on the page 🙂
