West Ham and Jonjo Shelvey has become the most regular transfer rumour to affect the club in months and months and months.
Ahead of every transfer window it seems the Romford born Newcastle United midfielder is presented as the answer to the Hammers issues in that area.
It’s been going on since the days of Slaven Bilic and has gained pace this time around since he has dropped down the pecking order at St James’ Park.
There have been regular stories that he is a £15m – £20m target and of late that Manuel Pellegrini is an admirer of the player.
If that’s the case it seems the majority of Hammers fans don’t share his view according to the latest poll published by ClaretandHugh.
A total of 1259 voted and a massive 905 – or 71.88 pc – were opposed to the club making a move for the 27 year old with 354 (28.12pc) giving the the idea a thumbs up.
Hugh, not referring specifically to this poll on Shelvey but in general, have you always formulated polls yourself ? Or have you been asked by the club at sometime to test fans’ opinion with a poll on a particular issue, eg an acquisition, a sale, a preference to keep one of several players etc?
We formulate every poll ourselves – I founded this website for the fans not the club – yes we have contacts in the club..of course we do which is the case with every journalistic operation of any consequence but this ongoing suspicion, cynicism and disbelief of our motives and actions is in the minds of others. Of course we don’t act in the club’s interests. We have no ties to them at all. I have been in this profession for many many years and wouldn’t have lasted this long had I acted in any other way than remaining free of vested interests. However, were the club to ask us to run a poll and we were we to agree it was in everybody’s interests we could do so and would explain as much to you all.

Should be that. Spend £20m in Joan Jordan who would a lot in great beside Rice. I worry Shelvey is another Wilshere #10 gone to deep lying plays good in spells has injuries not has much a Jack… West Ham fan, on big wages £80k.

Joan Jordan I think wee were linked with & def be Pellegrinis type, Sensi, even have John McGinn who Moyes wanted with over Jonjo he has been stellar for Villa. Linked with Grealish who I like but more an AM & w Lanzini Nasri Felipe we are covered tho he can deep lye is best in behind.
