The sale of Pedro Obiang and the imminent sale of Marcus Browne this week may have has opened up one more Irons squad position.
There may – after sone financial wheeling and dealing – may be enough funds for a young young player to arrive before the summer transfer window ends.
West Ham owners Sullivan and Gold spoke to Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos yesterday at Rush Green as they prepare for the new Premier League season.
A senior source speaking to Claret and Hugh via Email said: “We have one squad space and might now look to fund a player. We really have too many players on too high wages for a club not in Europe or Champions League”
The transfer window closes at 5 pm on Thursday 8th August the day before the season kicks off when Liverpool take on Norwich City.
There is no word yet on what position the squad addition could fill but the suggestion they are on the lookout for a young player would probably discount the likes of 31-year-old Gary Medel.
Back up striker & LB are badly needed.
If Haller get injured we will be exposed as we all know Hernandez can’t play as a lone frontman.
Imho Cresswell & Arthur aren’t good enough for the PL
Isaac Hayden would fit the profile. Young, has said he would like to move back south, cover for Declan & maybe £7/8m would buy him.
Can I refer to the quote included here “We have one squad space and might now look to fund a player. We really have too many players on too high wages for a club not in Europe or Champions League” Our highest paid player is Chicharito and he will be sitting on the bench – only a person with a lack of business mind would see the solution. By selling him you free up a space which is needed and sign two players and you will still make a significant saving financially.

No wonder there are so many injuries
At West Ham the training ground is full
Of potholes and worse look at the one sully is standing in 🤨
Doesn’t Sullivan deal with players wages ? His only got himself to blame then,We definitely need a mobile box to box midfielder with pace and a back up forward or we’re a couple of injuries away from a mediocre season I’m afraid
I’m kind of hoping we see the best of Chica this season playing along side a talent and unselfish player like Haller could be a great combination ⚒⚒
Maybe you might consider doing a piece on our wages and high earners vs our rivals Leicester, Everton and Wolves. Aside from Hernandez, who we know is on a massive wage, how do we compare to other ambitious teams looking to better themselves?
Have a look and write it Dom
