Irons six goal baptism of fire

|

Conor Coventry suffered a baptism by fire as his Peterborough loan debut went horribly wrong at Sheffield United yesterday.

The Posh have won just one game from their first six and were totally hammered at Bramall Lane  by a ghastly 6-2.

And the local Posh correspondent had little to say on Conor’s behalf in his player ratings where the Hammers midfielder was awarded just 4.5 points.

The comment alongside read: “A baptism of fire for the debutant who hopefully won’t run into a midfield of this calibre again this season. No impact on the game as Posh couldn’t keep the ball 4.5.

Director of football Barry Fry was desperate to land Conor and will be hoping for much better things over the forthcoming games.

Currently the Posh  have just four points and sit second off bottom with only Nottingham Forest below them.

Conor is clearly a better player than he showed yesterday and hopefully the Posh form will pick up as a season of struggle won’t do him any good at all.
