Irons up Kouyate offer

|

West Ham are reported this morning to have upped their offer for Anderlecht  central defender Cheikhou Kouyate to £8.5 million.

ClaretandHugh reported exclusively last night that the two sides remained apart on their valuation of the player  but that talks were continuing.

And it was confirmed this morning that a fresh offer has been tabled believed to be £1 million in advance of the £7.5m understood to be on the table from Valencia.

The offer from the Spanish club includes several clauses related to appearance bonuses and the like but the Hammers are hoping their improved offer will take care of considerations in that area

The player is keen to join the Hammers and it’s now a matter of agreeing a fee with a Hammers source telling us last night: “The player wants to come but there’s a problem with the fee.”
