Irons update Obiang situation

|

ObiangWest Ham’s supposed “bid” for Sampdoria’s Spanish midfielder Pedro Obiang was last night described as “having whiskers on it.”

Respectable websites were last night reporting that the Hammers had made a £5.8 million bid for the 22 year old.

But Claretand Hugh can reveal that the Hammers have made an inquiry only and that was over a month ago.

A Genoa newspaper originated the report declaring that the Hammers had moved in with a £5.8 million bid but wanted to pay by instalments.

However, an Irons insider told ClaretandHugh: “We made an inquiry between six and eight weeks ago.

Since then we have bought two midfielders so it won’t happen untless we lose someone off the squad. This one has got whiskers on it actually!”
