West Ham United‘s young talent, Gideon Kodua, has showcased his versatility during pre-season, impressing manager Julen Lopetegui with his adaptability.
The 19-year-old, who captained the club’s FA Youth Cup-winning side last season, has been deployed in unfamiliar positions during pre-season, including right-back and right wing-back. Despite the challenges of adapting to new roles, Kodua has demonstrated a willingness to learn and contribute to the team.
His skill set suggests a defensive position is somewhere he could excel also of course being able to use his attacking capabilities to cause problems from wide positions.
The youngster’s positive attitude and determination to succeed have caught the eye of the West Ham coaching staff, and he is eager to seize any opportunities that come his way. With the club’s squad now largely complete, it remains to be seen whether Kodua will be loaned out to gain further experience or remain at the London Stadium to compete for a place in the first team.
With this manager, my feeling is he’s had time to look at the youngsters available and if your names not on his list, you gone for the season
So pleased we now have a manager who takes a serious look at our young talent. They have to come from somewhere, why not here? It’s the support and opportunity that’s key.
Spot on and it’s refreshing to see.
Really liked the look of Kodua, will be a top player for us in the years to come!
