Isla’s final farewell -the pain is almost too much to bear

|

Little Isla Caton’s funeral was held this morning  – we believe at the crematorium in Hornchurch.

The thoughts of every Hammer will be with her and the family today as the seven year makes her final farewell after her courageous fight against the cancer which finally claimed her life.

Her mother Nicola said: she can go pain free and “have a childhood again in heaven”  when paying tribute to her “happy, contented little girl”

She added: “The amount of love she brought so many people will last a lifetime”.

Nicola said while her daughter’s childhood was “not what we would have wished,” it had been “a different kind of amazing”.

“We crammed 80 years’ worth of love into her seven years of life,” Nicola said.

The fabulous Hammers family had raised thousands of pounds for her to receive treatment here and abroad as the did everything within their power to save the little one.

In December, she was named in West Ham’s squad for the Premier League fixture with Southampton on Boxing Day, wearing the No12 shirt.

God bless you Isla as he certainly will and rest in peace little darling. The pain for all of us is almost too much to bear.
