Jack Wilshere was interviewed about how he supported West Ham as a boy earlier this week. He was watching England v Colombia with 400 supporters last Tuesday in the William Hill Arms as part of a promotional event
Wilshere told the Sportsman:
“I think I must have been about six or seven, my whole family were West Ham fans, I was a West Ham fan, still have a soft spot for them of course. I love, I used to love them back in the day when I was a kid.
That’s one long medical…I k know it’s got to be thorough but 2 to 3 day medical is a bit much ..😂😂😂 what is it with us a buisness we are like the council 7 men to dig a ho!e that takes 4 days
In one word insurance? When he gets injured ? And he will from time to time ? His wages are covered by a probable insurance policy to cover the company’s (that being west ham ) loss in pay out of the employee’s wages (Jack Wiltshire) if not self inflicted? And not the company being West ham, or being those that own west ham , so the insurance company will insist on a rigourous medical just incase they have to pay out ???, but west hams board will have to pay for a dear insurance policy on his past history ( me thinks,) but they must believe it will be worth it
Neither West Ham or any other PL club has insurance policies on players because although one or two (literally) companies offer it the premiums are absolutely massive and would add millions and millions to any club’s expenses. It doesn’t happen.
I take your word on that Hugh so that makes it all the more important that west ham don’t buy a dud ? Hence the thorough medical????
Yeah it’s true – honestly Dusty
All new players go through the same stringent and thorough medical at spire roding don’t they? I would hope they do. So I can’t imagine Wiltshire’s would have taken any longer than is normal for these things. I think they are just wrapping things up now in preparation for the announcement.
