July 5 could become Lingard’s D-Day

|

By Terry Robbins Cand H northern correspondent

Jesse Lingard will hold his first face to face meeting with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on July 5. when both men are expected to put their cards on the table over his future.

United, the player and West Ham have remained entirely silent since the end of the season but with the United players returning after their summer break on the 5th, the United manager is planning talks with several players.

Lingard and Juan Mata are among them and as far as the Hammers target is concerned it is still believed he is likely to be offered a new deal by the club.

His decision could be decided by a loan offer  for midfielder Donny van dee beek from Ajax which  if accepted could have the 28 year old attacking midfielder believing he has chances of more regular first team football at Old Trafford.

The United boss is understood to have discussed the situation with Lingard’s agents but now wants to clear the air entirely with the player.

Its beginning to become pathetic at this stage, waiting for a player to reject his club instead of getting on with our own business. It appears he has decided against joining us unless there is no other option and for the love of West Ham I just cannot accept we are waiting for him to make a decision, basically any other club would have said to him to confirm one way or the other and if it was No then thank you and goodbye. This window is beginning to worry me and it stinks that we do not have the funds to compete with the players. We will put in a derisory offer the Fiorentina defender. Yes other clubs are not making moves yet but we cannot be thinking about other clubs. Worrying but lets assume Moyes has everything under control though from the outside it doe snot look like it..

To be honest we need to do more business and quicker than any other club; we are not only planning for a new season but also for the Europa League. 5 players are needed and it all seems very blasé to me at the moment and the one thing we cannot afford to be is blasé, especially with the budget we have. No hiding places Sullivan.

Can we please calm down and reassess our perspectives on this transfer.
Firstly, JL is on his holiday, secondly players haven’t returned to pre season yet, thirdly and most importantly ManU haven’t signed Sancho yet.
We all know that he’s got a meeting with his employer in early July, so yes we do have to wait for the outcome.
Personally, I’m not bothered whether he comes to us or not. But we aren’t a moneybags club, therefore we will have to cut our cloth to suit our pockets.
At the beginning of the past season we all had a right moan up about Diangana being transferred, yet we went on to have a record season for points in the PL.
So please let us show some patience and see what happens by mid August when the season starts.
    Just saying!
