It isn’t only West Ham’s young talented defender Kaelan Casey who is struggling for game time whilst out on loan. The Hammers defender, sent out to Stevenage in the third tier, is at risk of the same problem which afflicted Lewis Orford last season with his loan side deeming him not good enough for minutes and threatening to bring his career development to a juddering halt.
West Ham are at risk of creating the same problem under their own roof with Adama Boiro, the defender on loan from Spanish side Athletic, the Spanish La Liga side similarly concerned about their own defender not getting a look in at London Stadium. That’s the claim in this morning’s sportwitness.co.uk, who write:
“Boiro’s situation doesn’t please Athletic”

Just thirteen minutes of game time since August is hardly going to impress Boiro’s parent club Athletic…
The La Liga side were hoping for Adama Boiro to enjoy regular minutes that he didn’t enjoy with them.
Athletic have agreed a purchase option and seem to hope that Boiro will join the London club permanently. However, there’s genuine concern over his restricted role at West Ham United.“
With Nottingham Forest loanee Morato seemingly being Nuno’s first choice at left back, there’s limited scope at present for Boiro who has got just thirteen minutes under his belt since his deadline day signing back in September. This kind of treatment for loan players is nothing new at West Ham, with Brighton duo Igor Julio and striker Evan Ferguson spending fruitless loan spells in East London and finding their own careers stalled as a result.
Boiro, just 24, surely has his best years ahead of him and will be hoping for game time to impress Nuno and the West Ham fan base rather than spending the season with his feet up: With a purchase option on the table he could very well be suitable as a long term replacement for El Hadji-Malick Diouf.. The trouble is, until he gets time on the pitch to show us what he can do, nobody knows.
All we need is our GREEK PELE. We had Ginge, now we have Mav. Our very own Greek Pele.
If he isn’t impressing in training, why would you put him on the pitch (I’m presuming he isn’t impressing in training of course!)
Clubs shouldn’t be allowed loan players if they don’t intend playing them.
Should be a stipulated amount of games they will play.
This will give parent club option which club is best suited for all parties.
Happens so many times when they might just as well stay at their club.
Any clubs not fulfilling their part should be made to pay an extra substantial fee.
