West Ham supporters, team members and ex players came together on Friday night to do what this club does best and honour one of its very best former legends.

The pre-game tribute to Ludek Miklosko was dignified and incredibly well supported by both sets of fans, both home and away, on a memorable evening to pay tribute to ‘Ludo’ who died at the dreadfully early age of 64.

And it has since been made known that the club’s largest shareholder, de facto chairman and fellow countryman Daniel Kretinsky attended the tribute and the game after.

Apparently this was confirmed afterwards by the West Ham United Independent Supporters Committee who specifically asked that he attend. (thewesthamway.com)

Another step in the right direction for West Ham’s new-era of leadership.

David Sullivan attended games despite being specifically asked to stay away

Spot the difference between Kretinsky’s attendance and that of former Chairman David Sullivan – who very publicly attended games earlier this season even after his resignation from office after the BBC allegations made against him, despite requests from London Stadium for him to stay away.

Despite his natural inclination to be lower key, (some would say ‘invisible’,) by attending, Kretinsky again demonstrated good judgement in a way that just seemed the right thing to do.

Appearing at a few more games would certainly do no harm, but it certainly seems as if the direction of travel in the boardroom is towards a less combative style which feels a far better ‘fit’ for West Ham fans.

From purely a Claret and Hugh perspective nobody will rest easy until Sullivan finally reads the room and sells up, but at least the public leadership of our club seems to know instinctively the right way to behave.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - sometimes- have to admit I have not renewed my season ticket... I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser. Can tell I'm getting old knowing I saw both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old. Magic.

Sullivan is not selling up. His only intention is to increase his holding for his boys Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. But the truth and facts needs to be said

You can’t really get a more embarrassing, clueless, egocentric, narcissistic, self-centred, self-interested, classless, gobby, and creepy owner than the cheapskate charlatan ex-adult industry “entrepreneur” David Sullivan.

Our club has always had terrible owners that have only been bothered about their own wealth and taking advantage of our incredibly loyal supporters.

I’m hoping we’ll become a far more professionally-ran club with greater ambition, but time will tell.

Kretinsky is professional, Sullivan is more like a wide boy than a professional. Everything about the way the club is being run is more dignified. I’d pay good money to see a rumble between Sullivan and Big Stacks.
