The early moves made by West Ham’s new look board have been warmly welcomed by the football club’s beleaguered supporters who now view relegation as something of a transformative necessity rather than a disaster.
The combination of the demise of the BS regime alongside the very public pronouncements made by Daniel Kretinsky concerning the club’s future direction were welcomed with huge sighs of relief last month.

Even the sale of the club’s two most valued players has been seen as a necessary evil to lance the boil of Sullivan’s financial ineptitude, with something approaching £145 million in the bank following well handled negotiations.
However the line in the sand drawn by Gold and Kretinsky last month, the clam that West Ham don’t need to sell players to survive the cash flow crisis and £105m loss of last year is about to be sternly tested. Supporters accepted Fernandes and Summerville leaving, but as bids start to come in for other young talent, the spotlight is now on the board to follow through their fine words with real intent.

El Hadji Malick Diouf would be a big loss: Far from the finished article, his value will likely skyrocket in the next couple of seasons and selling him would make no financial sense just now.

West Ham’s board have made all the right moves so far. You’d sense that the biggest battles over players the club need to keep hold of are about to be fought.
Selling players such as Wan-Bissaka and Todibo is one thing: Parting with a future gem whose trajectory will be on the rise next season will be seen as a huge divergence from the lofty promises made by the board. Battle lines drawn.
I could see why he might join Brentford. The club is everything that Wes Ham lacks. Never any BS from them …
I will assume/hope somebody is working with Scarles? Crossing a ball is not the most difficult skill to learn.
I will say it again Defensively he is a nightmare but push him up to the wide left role and i think we have a player with proper coaching who can fulfill the role vacated by Summerville…is he the finished article of course not but a year in the championship will help him understand and get better in the new role…..but if Brentford offered £60million i’d snatch their hands off.
You try and make it sound so simple but the harsh reality it isn’t at all. You have no idea if the player is willing to stay or not and if he wants to leave then that isn’t a reflection on the board and it is in our best interests to sell the player.
Mayers over Scarles every single day. If Brentford offer silly money for Diouf then bye bye.
I like Diouf, he is a great kid, with a fantastic attitude and the physicality to do well in the PL, I don’t want to see him go but understand if he does, if he does then it will provide us the opportunity to find another or for Scarles to develop which might not be a bad thing. Scarles is a better defender than Diouf while Diouf has slightly more pace and can deliver brilliant crosses.
If we get an amazing offer imho it won’t be terrible if we take it.
