Latest from the Irons Rumour Monger Factory

|

Manchester United midfielder Andrea Pereira is  the latest player to be linked to the Irons this January.

The Mirror has been claiming that his six appearances at Old Trafford this season has left Manuel Pellegrini looking to capitalise on Pereira’s wish to find regular football.

The report points out that the Belgian born Brazilian has already declined a new three year deal at Old Trafford and that despite advances from the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea the midfielder would prefer a club with a better guarantee of first team football.

Pereira has been at United since 2014, and enjoyed loan spells in La Liga with Granada CF and Valencia.

ClaretandHugh says: This is one of those tales has been around for a couple of days and again rates low again on the old rumour rater given Manel Pellegrini’s comments over recent days regarding the midfield position. He has made it clear that he has the players he needs in that area of the team. And of course one has to ask given United’s new situation in being manager-less how that may affect Pereira’s position at Old Trafford under a new boss. That he has been out on loan three times isn’t encouraging either for a club like ours where when we do start to look again it will be for players who have proven themselves of genuine PL quality. At this time a couple of loan signings may be a possibility but they are more likely to be at right and left back than in the middle of the park.

Would be interested to see whether we could sign him as he can go on a free at the end of the season and Utd are set to take their time deciding the new manager so he might still be keen on leaving.
