Jesse Lingard has revealed he played through a massive headache scoring two goals to take his West Ham tally to eight.
The Manchester United loanee was seen on Sky Sports cameras taking some unknown tablets at the side of the pitch from the medical team.
Jesse swallowed them with some water and carried on playing regardless with TV commentators suggesting he might have a stomach complaint.
Lingard told Sky Sports post-match he was suffering from a little headache, nothing too bad and the tablets were just pain killers.
Lingard is top of the Premier League for the most combined goals and assists on eleven more than Harry Kane.
The feat of eight goals and three assists made even more remarkable when you factor that Jess has achieved this in just nine games playing for the Hammers.
Certainly, he is the player who has created the most impact to a West Ham team since Dimitri Payet joined the Hammers for 18 months.
Disappointing to concede 2 goals again today. But in the last 3 games we’ve scored 9. When did we last do that? Without Declan for the past 2 games and Mikey for one and half games we’re still in with a shout of CL qualification. And, make no mistake, beating Leicester today was a big, big result.
The icing on the cake today? Tott getting turned over at home – and 6 points adrift of the Irons. Yes, there is a God. And we’ve still got our noses in front of Chelsea. Let’s keep it that way and give them a good game in a fortnight and extend our lead over them further. But starting at Newcastle next Saturday, let’s tighten up in defence; carry on putting at least 3 away – and making the final 30 minutes for our supporters less stressful. COYI.
