London Stadium fenced off

|

Contractors have started to fence off the London Stadium in preparation for the return of Premier League football on Saturday 20th June.

Football authorities are worried that home and away supporters could congregate outside football stadiums during before, during and after games so extra security is being installed today. The Hammers second home game is against Chelsea on Saturday evening 1st July which deemed a higher risk with police worried about pre-arranged meetups.

The London Stadium has the advantage of being on an island which can only be accessed by bridges but it is also in the middle of a public park.

The Premier League, West Ham and police will hope these images will send out a clear message that fans won’t be welcome or able to get close to the stadium.

West Ham’s first three games will be broadcast live on Sky Sports with watch party technology to enable supporters to watch virtually with friends.
