London Stadium seats to be covered with fan walls

|

The London Stadium will cover up all lower-tier seats with club logos and fan walls printed on them.

The information was revealed by West Ham Vice-Chairman Karren Brady in her Sun column.

The Baroness said “As the games will be behind closed doors, the PL have done a fantastic job working with the broadcasters to enhance the match-day experience for viewers.

The PL clubs approved a new rule that will see the lower-tier seats at all 20 stadiums covered.

This will help with acoustics and feature clubs’ insignia and fan representation and will be centrally sourced by the PL and installed by them into our 20 stadiums.

Supporters watching from home will get a 360-degree replay of the action, crowd noise (if they want that) and fan walls.

New cameras in the tunnel (without audio) will help supporters see the build-up to the match and the coin-toss will also be filmed.

There will also be a celebration camera and no doubt players will be working out how to use that if they have to socially distance!

And, a lovely touch, all players shirts will feature the NHS on the front of their playing kits.

So we are in good shape. We are ready. We are raring to go.”

Claret and Hugh say:

Good to hear that the Premier League is thinking about supporters match day experience from their armchairs including acoustics and fan walls on covered seats.

Not so sure about the artificial crowd noise being added in by the broadcasters but if this is an option to turn on or off then want is the harm and can it down to personal choice.

I have got used to watching the Bundesliga with no crowd noise over the past few weeks so I am not sure the Premier League needs too much-superimposed effects.

It will be very similar to watching a U23’s game at the London Stadium which always had a minimal crowd presence.

They can dress it up however they want Hugh but lets be honest, the whole season is a washout and no amount of window dressing will spark it into life. The Bundesliga is like a day trip to the cemetery and in reality should have been buried there. However this all ends up there will be ramifications and only the grasping need for money has got it to this stage.Look at the responses to this article and we can see most have long since lost interest.
