A Newcastle United supporter who ripped up a London Stadium seat and threw it hitting a fellow Magpie supporter has been charged with assault say police.
West Ham’s Met Police designated officer Andy Sheldon yesterday announced that one Newcastle supporter had been arrested at the London Stadium for throwing a seat and injuring one of his own supporters. Today Sheldon provided an update announcing that the Newcastle supporter who threw the seat has been charged with assault, throwing a missile and possession of drugs.
He will be making a court appearance on 19th November where he looks set to receive a court three-year banning order in addition to a life ban from West Ham and Newcastle if found guilty.
Police say it was the only incident and arrest of the day while praising both sets of fans for honouring the one minute’s silence during the last post in honour of remembrance Sunday.
