The allure of Champions League Football and Serie A may not be enough for Roma to conclude a deal with West Ham over Crysencio Summerville who has another 3 years on his contract with an option for an additional year.
According to Capology his Premier league wages at West Ham were £45k a week, with additional bonuses of £11,250, which halve in the Championship. Yet on the basis that the club gain promotion in year one he would then be back on the original terms.
Summerville wants £100k a week in wages: West Ham want £50 million
West Ham are understood to view Roma’s £34m (€40m) offer as a non‑starter, sitting £6m below the £40m release clause that must be paid in full upfront. However, reports suggest the Hammers would consider higher bids, and crucially, if that’s the case they’re open to structured instalments rather than a single lump‑sum payment.

Still no definitive news of a move for West Ham’s Dutch winger
As such, Roma’s offer is likely to be rejected, especially in light of the fact that this is more or less what the Hammers paid Leeds United as the original deal was £25m plus £4m tied to international recognition, and other payments linked to performance based add ons.
Roma are offering the player £65k a week which after tax nets the player an increase of £11,615 a week or £604k over the year based on his PL salary. The Netherlands international wants £100k a week so the Italian club are £35k a week short on their current offer.
Other than some speculative loan bids from Turkey as it stands Summerville may well be in a Hammers shirt going into the new season, though the club are preparing to be without the player and expect a Premier League club to make a firm move closer to the beginning of the season.
Why oh why dont West Ham offer Summerville 100k a week contract as a Premier League player, ie they pay him 50k a week this year, with a 2.6 million bonus if we get promoted on the grounds his release clause is increased to 80 million.(ie his bonus is reward for the release clause increase and not promotion)
Summerville gets the monetary reward he wants
West Ham get am increase in the release clause
…. and we all get to enjoy the lad for many years to come or 80 million to replace him
Everyone’s a winner
