Manu’s up and down season hits a high

|

Manuel Lanzini wins Premier League Goal of the Month for October

Manu Lanzini’s brilliant – nay scintillating goal against the Spuds – unsurprisingly has won the Premier League’s Budweiser Goal of the Month award for October.

And it will be even less surprising if it isn’t among the top two or three as goal of the season such was its unbelievable quality.  Michail Antonio’s overhead strike could see the Irons with two of them in that elite group,

But Manu’s may just edge it because it finalised an amazing comeback which gave the Hammers an incredible point against the North London ‘enemy.’

Now he must be wondering when he is going to get the chance to build on the platform which looked well and truly laid out at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

He was seen for a quarter of an hour against Fulham and did nothing wrong and whilst goals of the month are fine, he will be hoping for more over the net few games.

Commenting at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/november/13-november/manuel-lanzini-wins-budweiser-premier-league-goal-month Manu said: “I’m very happy to win the Goal of the Month award. It was hugely satisfying to score this goal, which had so much significance.

“When I came onto the pitch, I was just thinking about what I could do to help the team. I never anticipated what was going to happen, but these things do happen in football!

“I think it is one of the best goals I’ve scored in the Premier League so far, if not the best. It was very emotional for everyone. The team celebration was the best!

“It’s been a strange year for me, with a lot of ups and downs. I haven’t been able to consolidate my position in the team, but this goal has boosted my confidence, I’m back in form and it shows what I can do.”
