Marko’s eleventh hour decision

|

Marko Arnautovich first developed a knee problem during the international break when on duty for Austria.

Sadly despite everybody inside the club believing he would be available today (Sun) the niggling injury needs another week’s rest but there is near certainty he will be available for the Manchester United game next Saturday.

He withdrew from today’s game after a late morning fitness test when he tested the knee in the company of Head of Medical Richard Collinge.

It was very much an eleventh hour decision taking most by surprise and as is usually the case with the Austrian striker he made the decision that he didn’t want to risk it.

A club source said it had taken most by surprise as he was fully expected to make the game with one adding: “It came as a shock because I heard the news on the radio whilst on the way to the stadium!”
