Portuguese newspaper ‘the Record’ claims that Marseille have shown late interest in William Carvalho.
However, the report the player still has his heart set on West Ham and the Premier League and they are unlikely to persuade him to move to France.
The paper claim Sporting Lisbon’s president is still demanding €38m (£34.5m) plus €5m (£4.5m) of add ons for Carvalho while they say they understand West Ham will make a final offer this week of €35m (£31.8m).
Asked about Carvalho’s absence on the pitch on Friday, Sporting Lisbon boss Jorge Jesus said “it was to protect William, Sporting… everything.” The Angola-born powerhouse has amassed 37 caps for Portugal
A number of reports in the British press today suggest West Ham have already upped their big to €32.5m which converts to a club record £29.5m offer after an earlier offer of €30m (£27.1m) was reportedly turned down by Lisbon club.
Manchester City, West Bromwich Albion, Liverpool and Arsenal have all been linked with Carvalho this year as they look for holding midfielders.
Always the same
Just go in like other clubs and sign a player we need
Noble should now become at best a bench warmer
We also need to address Ayew who offers nothing does not even hold the ball up,
We also should buy Bony fast to give us a different option
Rice should start and Burke recalled any offer for Ginge Konte and Reid taken fast
Without these changes we will loose every game against the top 7 teams by the same margin and loose confidence in the team
It’s move on and up or settle for mid table for years
Good on you bubs. You say it the way it is in my humble opinion.
I love Nobes, but more for his loyalty than his impact. He was awesome in Bilic’s first season, and I think the fact he didn’t get any international recognition at that point, despite being one of the best midfielders in the country has totally knocked the wind out of his sails, and at his age, I agree his time has come. Rice coming on for him yesterday was a telling sign. He still has a lot to offer, but I hope he’s beginning to work on his coaching badges…
Ex says the Carvalho deal is all but done. Good news, if it pans out.
Think go for Perez over Bony. But think not grabbing Mounie when linked for only £11.5m was a miss same height as Giroud but faster and very physical showed 2 great finishes in debut with a brace. At 22 would have been perfect to play with Chicharito or swap out.
Bony scares me I like Perez and would Swap AC for Mitrovic or Babacar at 24 would be a shrewd buy. but I don’t think they will get another striker unless a really good deal comes up.
Carvalho is a must and cheaper than others of is talent going for £50m. I agree on Rice.
But getting g players out like Fonte and Snodgrass price hard bc of wages. That’s why January buying is dangerous and daft when buying one to play out of his position
Balde for me all day long – but it won’t happen now.
