Massive pay deal rules out Irons midfielder move

|

Speculation that former Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey could be on his way to the Hammers looks as unlikely as it gets unless the 31 year old is ready to take a massive pay cut.

Gazetta Della Sport per Hammers News are claiming that the Welshman is now seen as a favourite option by the Irons but with a wage bill loaded withthe likes of  Anderson, Yarmolenko and Reid, the club could get nowhere near the personal terms he’s likely to want.

On joining Juventus there were reports that he was on £400,000 a week although the club claimed the deal was closer to £250k weekly.

And with a contract until 2023 it’s impossible to believe  the Welshman would be ready to sacrifice such a salary for a cut price deal at the London Stadium, or that we could pay it.

There is of course no sell- on value in Ramsey and until the Jesse Lingard issue is settled the Hammers wouldn’t be looking in such a direction anyway.
