Arthur Masuaku has hit back at a fan who gave him a hard time over his performance against Manchester City on Saturday. And he may well have also taken a pop at manager Manuel Pellegrini in playing him at left back by declaring: “Everyone knows my real position.”
However, some would point out that would be acceptable were it not for the fact that he was bought in the first place as a left back. Masuaku was roundly condemned for his display against the league leaders where he was held responsible for two of the first half goals in our 0-4 defeat.
It’s not the first time he has been judged to be at fault and was again held to blame for the goal against Brighton when the Hammers were beaten 1-0 on the south coast.
But yesterday he was thrown in on the left side of defence again and appeared to see the pass for the first goal pass through his legs whilst being out of position for the second.
During a seriously heated debate on Twitter, Masuaku erupted in anger telling his adversary – whose account now appears to have been suspended – “you’re life is useless imbecile”
Whilst I think Masuaku is poor defensively, I feel really sorry for him that he has to field this sort of rubbish from so called fans. I am sure he doesn’t mean to defend badly it is what it is, MP asked him to play there, there is plenty of evidence to suggest he would make more mistakes and will if he is played there again.
Yes we unowned his position he was deployed as a left back did he nor unowned that ! All I can say is shame he didn’t put that effort into tracking back .
Once again is it only us fans who can see the glaringly obvious…. Masuaku is a winger end of. It’s like the whole Antonio RB saga all over again but on the opposite flank.
Does Ogbonna get this level of stick despite costing us a goal for almost every half he plays? Anyone who knows anything knows you don’t improve people by slagging them off. We can be disappointed, we are WHU after all, but let us please get behind our players instead of publicly crucifying them.
The sooner this bloke, who is no defender and merely an adequate winger leaves , the better; and you can take that vastly over-rated Manger with you, as the bloke must be blind not to see Masuaku’s a total liability
