Mega rant ‘could be heard yards from dressing room’

|

Mark Noble’s mega rant after the Wolves game is being reported widely as the reason for West Ham’s turnaround in form.

Nobes himself revealed that he had given it large in the dressing room at the time but more details are emerging about what he said and why to the players.

The Mail reports him as having told the squad ‘You just do not seem to care and that is not acceptable at this club.”

The story continues: ‘No-one was spared as Noble spent a full five minutes insisting that performances were well below what was needed.

He stressed that more effort was needed from the group and more from the players which had cost West Ham £100 million during the close season if the team were to end a horrendous run that had brought four straight defeats in the opening quartet of Premier League games.

Noble’s angry assessment of what had happened and what needed to happen to turn West Ham’s season around could be heard yards away from the home dressing room.

I have no doubt that his outburst helped a lot but I do not believe that alone would account for the vast improvement we have seen in passing, touch and general quality over recent weeks.

But top marks to Nobes – a real captain!
