Midfielder ready for tough summer training

|

Jack Wilshere has pledged to spend much of his summer returning to peak fitness as he eyes a far better 2019/20 season than last term.

Just like Robert Snodgrass – on his return from Aston Villa – the midfielder will be putting in the hard miles as he looks to make a real impact next season.

Manuel Pellegrini and Mario Husillos are currently chasing Andre Gomes but the manager is fiercely hopeful that the former Arsenal and England midfielder can make an impact.

Both have spoken in glowing terms of the player on various occasions with Husillos in particular declaring: “Manuel and I identified him as a target as soon as we joined the Club.”

He told www.whufc.com “On the biggest stage, he has shown that he has game-changing abilities, as well as having the creativity and intelligence to make a real difference to our squad.”

Wilshere is expected back at  the training ground probably before any of the others as he prepares for a big season and will be given a tough pre-season including a trip to Hong Kong for The Asia Cup tournament.
