As the wins rack up and the Hammers climb back into the automatic promotion places in the Championship, you cannot help the feeling that several top tier clubs who aren’t sharing West Ham’s success will start looking enviously at successful squad members who are making a name for themselves thanks to the drop into the second tier.

Reported today by the72.co.uk is the very real possibility that Divine Mukasa could be high on the ‘wish list’ of European clubs next year – thanks largely to his high profile West Ham game time and evident relish at playing for his boyhood club again.

Trouble is, the more successful the young man is this season, the less likely West Ham will be able to keep hold of him once their ‘dry’ loan expires.

Divine Mukasa scores for West Ham against Swansea City in the Championship.

Another goal for Mukasa keeps on raising his profile as ‘one to watch’ – across Europe

Tipped for a big move – especially if West Ham fail to make it back to the Premier League – by a report today originating from “EFL expert Ali Maxwell” – Mukasa could well be headed overseas if the journalist’s opinion has substance:

“West Ham loanee Divine Mukasa has been tipped for a big future move by EFL expert..

The EFL specialist web site continues.….”Could West Ham get him back permanently? Potentially. That could be massive for them long-term.

He’s the sort of player that I wouldn’t be surprised if he has interest from like a Dortmund, even a Bayern, a team in the Bundesliga I think would suit him quite well. He’s a real, real talent.”

Mukasa’s future will be decided, surely, by the result of the appeals process over Manchester City’s 114 guilty charges: Should City be banished from the Premier League,  Mukasa’s future could well be away from the Etihad.

“If” – it turns out to be true that there’s a sell-on clause in Mukasa’s original contract (as per Geo of HammersChat this morning) then, brilliant: West Ham’s chance of signing him permanently might just be enhanced.

However if  a side like Bayern Munich come knocking, few players – and fewer agents – could resist the lure of one of the top sides in European football, Mukasa included. At the very least, 25% of his Manchester City eventual sale price could be heading back to the Hammers.

Just remember the old adage and ‘don’t fall in love with the loan signings’ – we nearly all fell for it once before with Jesse Lingard so hopefully Hammers fans will bear that in mind as Mukasa continues to shine this season.

From the old Bobby Moore Upper to the Billy Bonds' stand these days - I've been watching since '03 and a supporter since about 1970..
Favourite player - Dean Ashton: Curse you Shaun Wright-Phillips.
I still watch YouTube repeats of the Cup Final of 2006 hoping in vain that Shaka Hislop grows another six inches and stops Steven Gerrard's injury time equaliser.
Can tell I'm getting old knowing I watched both Mark Noble's debut and his last game at West Ham.
Pulling on a Claret and Blue replica shirt still makes me feel the same butterflies as when I was seven years old.
Magic.

All very true and we just have to accept one season if that what it is. But it is a real negative knowing that he will probably leave especially given that he was from our academy.
Potentially we will have prepared him for his next club and then have to find a replacement.
But hey let’s get promoted first!
