The former Brentford ace took the number on his arrival at the club last season but this season will instead inherit the No 22.It’s the second change of number so far with Pablo Fornals being handed the No 8 .Numbers of course don’t mean too much in the modern games except maybe the nine which is always associated with a club’s supposedly most exciting front runner. That’s certainly the case with Mikey!

The 31 year old  has had the number 30 since he joined the Hammers from Nottingham Forest back in the summer of 2015 as a wide midfielder.

But his amazing transformation into a central hitman has clearly influenced the club to make it clear if proof was needed that he is the No 1 attacker.

After his goal scoring exploits over the past two seasons, however, a change has been made.
