Mixed results leave Hammers on the edge

By Hughie Southon

West Ham now know for absolute certain that tomorrow’s game against Southampton truly is a MUST WIN affair.

Mixed results from those around us in the table today (Sat) saw the Hammers looking at the possibility of rising to 14th place.

The alternative could see us in bottom pot if we are beaten by Saints. We are very much on the edge.

The worst result from out point of view was Bournemouth’s win over Fulham who had led 1-0 and which saw the home side rise to 15th place on 27 points.

With much better goal difference the Irons can rise above them tomorrow afternoon by winning their game at the London Stadium.

Leicester City fell into the bottom three just above us having been beaten 2-1 by Palace who went into the game under returning former boss Roy Hodgson.

Leeds were beaten 4-1 by Arsenal to find themselves in 16th place and Forest drew with Wolves who are in 14th and 13th place respectively.
