West Ham Loanee Victor Moses has withdrawn from Nigeria’s friendlies against Cameroon and Congo scheduled for next week in Belgium. He was due to play in Belgium on 8 October and 11 October to prepare for upcoming qualifiers.
The Nigeria Football Federation revealed on their Twitter account late on Sunday night that Moses had withdrawn, but gave no further details. Completesportsnigeria.com claim that Moses wrote to the NFF explaining that he was taking a precautionary step to avoid aggravating an injury he picked up while playing for West Ham over the weekend.
Moses played on Saturday in West Ham’s 2-2 Premier League draw with Sunderland, setting up one of his side’s goals. He was taken off early in the second half, after picking up a small knock it is claimed.
Yes, something is up with him – I know he came in late in the Transfer Window and Chelsea had a bit of an eccentric pre-season where Mourinho gave the players a month off – but he doesn’t look fit, he gets withdrawn in games all the time.
We really need him to get fit, he’s a quality player and you can’t have too much quality in a team!
