Moyes admits: “I wondered how we would get through”

|

David Moyes and the squad have battled their way to success in some extremely difficult games over the last few weeks.

Thankfully, the season has enjoyed a fine climax after months of turgid and desperately mediocre  football but to put that behind them and get some fine results against the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United is a matter for applause.

And speaking to reporters the manager has explained how they managed to come through such a packed schedule.

He said: “If you look at the three-game weeks we’ve had, at times I was thinking, ‘My goodness, how are we going to get through this?’

But part of the job is digging some wins out, like beating Manchester United and coming back from 2-0 down against Arsenal and we’ve been on a rollercoaster in other games where we haven’t done so well.

“But we’ve done just enough to get us into a final and to safety in the Premier League.”

Well done to Moyes for navigating us through it all. Thank god there’s no winter World Cup competition next season. Cramming that in the middle of premier league two domestic cups and a European campaign has been rediculous at times.
