Moyes between rock and hard place with board

|

By Hughie Southon

West Ham’s January spening dilemma will become the focus of most Hammers over the next few weeks.

We revealed yesterday that with the club in its present 16th position decisions will need to be made on how much can be spent in the window and indeed by whom!

Given their recent quote to CandH. whether the board will trust the manager to make further signings until the current crop he bought in the summer have proved themselves Moyes has a big obstacle to overcome.

The position quite simply as it has been explained to us by a top source is that he needs to show he has made the right signings, saying : “Everybody knows performances and results must improve.”

That makes Arsenal away and Brentford at home two hugely important games for Moyes who, if he gets the results he needs, will presumably be in a much stronger position to spend whatever is available.

If he doesn’t it may not only be a case of him not being allowed to buy anyone but possibly facing the exit door on the back of results.

It’s incredible to think based on results and performances over the past 12 months (relegation form) that he has not already been sacked. I find it baffling in particular as we all know he wint change his approach. He will continue to pick players like Kehrer, Bowen and doucek instead of trusting other players.

What part of the Europa league or our league position last season that disappointed you? Fair enough to pick on this season’s form but 12 months, really?
