Moyes confirms injury issue

By Hughie Southon
West Ham head for Brentford tomorrow (Sat) looking for their first Premier League win over the south west London club since it was promoted to the top level.
And as we predicted earlier today Kurt Zouma looks set to miss his first match of the season with the manager unsure whether he will travel for the game.
Moyes said: “I’m not sure if Kurt Zouma will make the trip to Brentford yet. He trained a little bit so we will see how he goes.”

However, his absence will give a big chance to Mavropanos who looked in fine form against Arsenal in the Carabao Cup win.

The Greek has looked a really good buy on the few opportunities he has had since arriving at West Ham and although it’s unfortunate for the captain there’s no doubting that Mavro has earned a chance.
Discussing the player the manager said: “Dinos Mavropanos is a big personality who is making his way back into the Premier League. The games he’s played for us, he’s done really well. A good character, and we hope he continues to come along.”
The manager, however, gave little away on who would play in the place of the suspended Paqueta and Alvarez other than saying: “We played players in the cup games and in Europe, so when we need them to come in they’re ready to do so.”
That may mean James Ward-Prowse acts as anchor with  a team which may look like this: Areola, Coufal, Mavropanos, Aguerd, Cresswell; Emerson, Ward-Prowse, Soucek, Kudus Benrahma, Bowen.
