David Moyes has reminded his players that West Ham are just four games from having the chance to fight for Europa League glory.
The Hammers are safely into the quarter-finals of the competition after securing a shock 2-0 win over Sevilla after extra time on Thursday night.
The Irons will learn their opponents for the last eight on Friday and they could face a varied group of opponents in the last eight.
The potential opponents are RB Leipzig, Rangers, Barcelona, Braga, Atalanta, Lyon and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Friday’s draw will also see the semi-finals decided, so West Ham will know who they will face in the last four if they win in the quarter-finals.
And Moyes has now laid down the gauntlet to his players, insisting that they are just four games away from the final in Spain, when the Irons could potentially end their lengthy trophy drought.
Speaking to the club’s official website after the Sevilla game, he said: “I wish we could have got the trophy tonight!
“There are four games to play to get to the final, but we’ve got a good team and as long as we’re right – I’ll be telling the players tomorrow that they’ve all got to avoid injuries and keep themselves in top condition, because we have a small squad and we need Jarrod back, we need the boys back for the big games to come.”
