Moyes happy to continue with extension

|

David Moyes’ contract is up at the end of the season but suggestions by the Daily Mail that West Ham have put talks over a new deal on hold due to the club’s finances continuing to be hit by the pandemic are way off the mark.

Moyes is happy with West Ham and the owners are happy with the progress he has made, there is no suggestion he would leave the club.

The Daily Mail seem to have missed the crucial clause in David Moyes contract which activates an automatic contract extension.

While the Scotsman has signed an 18-month deal at the end of December 2019 and started his second spell in charge on New Year’s Day, he already had an automatic 12-month extension built-in, extending his contract if West Ham finishes 13th or above in the Premier League table.

He has already guaranteed a finish greater than 13th so the contract extension is already in place.

I think it’s time for some real long term stability at the club, I mean giving a manager years to work on something, work with the academy and not be scared of talking risks playing young players.
    Build something over time.
Let’s hope our owners don’t mess up here and they sort him out properly and his staff.
