Moyes in plea to fans

|

west-ham-fans-bubblesDavid Moyes has issued a plea for the fans to unite behind the club and warned that a toxic atmosphere can only affect the team’ performance.

He admits he doesn’t understand the history of fan discontent but is delighted that they have been supportive of him since his arrival.

Now he believes the best (perhaps the only) thing the fans can do is to try burying their grievances and ensure that the team and club gets their total support.

Speaking after the game the manager sad: “I don’t know the reasons for it and the history of what’s gone on here, and I’m really thankful that they have been supportive of me.

“But we need them now, we need a united Club, and it’s hard and people have grievances. But the supporters know the history and the past much better than I do.

I said to the players at the end ‘It’s tough to play when the crowd’s like that’. Small things can make a big difference. I can understand the supporters’ feelings because we didn’t play well enough in the second half especially.
