Moyes makes bold prediction

|

Moyes5David Moyes has boldly claimed the Hammers are all set to escape relegation trouble.

Speaking after the game at Manchester City he declared: ““I don’t think we’ll be in trouble.

“We have a good team, good players and I think the performance gives us hope that it can be done.

“I thought the players’ effort and energy showed it can be done. It gives us a real chance.

“I said to them that if we do that against the other top teams we’ll give ourselves a chance.”

He said: “I want to be attacking, but we were playing against a team that hardly gives you the ball.

“You’re not just going to stand there and give them the opportunities to score.

“I’m not here to make City look good. I am here to try to get a result for West Ham.

History shows that after a good performance comes a crap performance . Teams that shouldn’t be beating us always seem to . We don’t expect much from the upcoming games except maybe full commitment , if that brings a few points all well and good . When we meet teams that are on a par with us we need to beat them . End of . I would rather see us being underestimated than overestimated . Best not to say too much at this stage . Talk has gotten us absolutely knowhere . Tell that to your squad and keep them away from Twitter , and media ….. in fact , they should be banned from it . It only serves to give other teams a bigger reason to beat us . Best to just keep quite and get on with it .
That message has gone out so many times now from loads of fans that it seems we are being ignored or treated as stupid . GREAT SPORTSMEN and Women down through history don’t normally mouth off . They just stay calm and perform . They let Thier game talk for them .

Agree a lot of players have been coming out talking more then usual.
But I like Moyes positiving & backing his players now the board will have to back him in Jan bc our squad is too thin 22 but really 20(Henry & Masaki don’t count)
Which w our injuries we need that depth & Brady is already saying we will sell. Sakho will most likely go but besides that we can’t afford to lose more bc need 3 now bc we over sold in summer w no replacements can’t do the same in Jan.

Its a good point Kevin, we didn’t string two good performances together very often under Bilic and have yet to do so under Moyes but I think the gap in our levels should be lessened and hopefully as we get some confidence our consistency will come, certainly if we play Rice more often at the back his consistency should improve and of all our central defenders he and Ogbonna seem the most comfortable with the ball at their feet and are probably the smartest defenders in terms of distribution. We are still in the baby steps stage of improvement, the good thing is a lot of teams are now being sucked towards the bottom of the table we just have to start beating them when we play them instead of dropping levels as you suggest 🙂

I only hope Moyes has not changed his arm with these statements we are all aware that the team has no consistency they perform ok for one game then don’t turn up for the next, so let us wait until we have a run of 3 games with a decent performance before we have any talk of turning corners etc. Moyes should be telling the players the work rate in the City game should be the normal for all of the future games otherwise they will be replaced, he should also introduce some of the under 23 players if only to give the squad more competition for places

If we sell sakho its a shot in the foot ! He’s needed ! To sacrifice him for money instead of safety is brain dead management ! We need plus players not sell and try and recruit ! Who will want to come when were bottom at Xmas lol! Freebies and wet pants with free bus passes and a air freshener ffs
Where did Brady say were selling JRS ? We should start by outing her !! 😎
It won’t be Carroll will it ! Didn’t even make the squad did he ! Is he available Saturday to practice his kung fu assaults ! And drop sakho ? Lol😤

After all we are to good to go down 😕

  • West Ham Fan No 32 says:

He made the right tactical choices and the team executed well, one of their goals they got following a free kick that shouldn’t have been awarded and the other was quite brilliant despite some suggesting Rice was responsible, as we all saw we had the chances to get a result also, play the same way even at home against the free scoring Gooners and Chelski.

Laz, as you say, “I’m not having that”! The bromance has to stop, for your own good fella! Sakho is no longer the answer for us. He’s not committed. I know you think Arnie was to blame for that miss at the end yesterday but have another look. Sakho stopped his run before Arnie crossed. Sakho had to do better and hit the target at least. That’s that firework well and truly lit!
As for Moyes” claim, he needs to look again at what he has delivered to date. One point from twelve, a worse average than Slav. Slow to make substitutions and the same old reliance upon a few favourites. I’m not seeing much of an improvement and I struggle with the concept of taking positives from defeats, unless they result in wins after, something which Moyes has failed to deliver. The only credit I’ll give is Nobes ain’t starting!
