Moyes’ no hold barred for Cup success

|

David Moyes is aiming for a no holds barred performance as we take the first step down an FA Cup road in Kent this evening.

The TV cameras are there for one purpose of course – to see a Hammers slip up which according to Gills boss Steve Evans is now more unlikely than before Moysie took over at the London Stadium.

The two Scots have all but grown up in the game having been born within six months of each other and joined the Celtic Boys Club.

But there will be no love lost as they face up to each other at the Priestfield today with personal and professional pride on the line.

And after the disaster that was Oxford the Hammers have more than enough to play for and for which to compensate the fans who are screaming out for a trophy after all these years.

The boss is as  determined as it gets to give them full value saying at https://www.whufc.com/news/articles/2020/january/04-january/david-moyes-well-try-win-it-everything-weve-got: “Bournemouth is only one game but it was certainly a really good start, and it was big credit to the players and the way they went about it.

“Every day we’re trying to improve – progress is something we’re really trying to get and building on that first game.

“I’m fresh and ready to go. I’ve only had one game, I don’t feel tired, I feel ready and I’m hoping a lot of what the players get is from the manager as well.

“If I can give them energy and confidence, then hopefully those players will not show any sign of fatigue.

“Everybody wants to win the cup. My intention is to have everybody out there firing and try to build on the performance we had the other night.”

Moyes is well aware of the type of threat the Gills will pose, having grown up alongside their manager Steve Evans in their early years at Celtic.

“He went to play for Clyde when he left Celtic, and did really well,” Moyes explained. “His manager was Craig Brown, and we used to play friendlies against them because it was only a mile between the two clubs.

“We were about 17, 18, 19 then and really we went our own ways in football and he’s done a really good job wherever he’s managed.

“He always seems to get the maximum out of his players, and that’s something which classes you as a good manager or a good coach.

Welll we need to go for this because it would mean a lot to consistency .
In my opinion West Ham Lost they’re way when Pelligrini played a non team against Oxford . It upset the whole equilibrium of the squad. . He did the same against Wimbledon . No West Ham heart beating . ( hard to blame a goalkeeper when the team is in disarray )
Moyes will ignite that spark that was forever serpressed by Pelligrini . He was a dampener on our potential . We need a full team as possible to play and maintain a togetherness .
We really do want a Cup Run . We are screaming for it and dying for it . The League is something else now and I believe Moyes will keep us safe .
