Phil Jagielka was one of David Moyes’ best ever signings.
The central defender joined the now Hammers boss at Everton for £4 million captaining the team from 2013-2019 in a career which took in 355 games.
That puts him in a position to understand what he is seeing in the Hammers boss right now as he leads us on an incredible run of success.
At 39 and now with Derby County Jagielka – who started his career with Sheffield United – is clearly delighted that his former boss is finding some long overdue success at the London Stadium and believes he knows why.
We have said it here before but it’s all about finding a club that suits and the Hammers – like Everton – is a family outfit with a passionate fan base.
And it’s that which is contributes so greatly to what Moyes is managing to achieve with us according to his old boy.
Speaking to the Athletic Jagielka said: “He understands the club, he’s been backed by the board, the fans love him and you can see the squad he’s put together is full of great characters.
