Moyes on the return to a difficult routine

|

The Hammers have returned to the Thursday/Sunday routine following the re commencement of the Europa League games but David Moyes admits he’s not keen on the situation.

But he is refusing to moan about it but answering questions from reporters he made his feeling clear on the set-up.

He said: “You get used it. I don’t think it’s ever been a great recipe tfor any clubs, not just us. The amount of times we’ve looked into the why’s and the where’s and for some reason, the mentality of it makes it really difficult to do.

This weekend, Leeds United played Thursday and so did Aston Villa. That equals it out a little bit. It’s something you need to get used to.

You can use your squad which we managed to do in the early stages. What we’ve got now is we’re having to get much closer to maybe the regular team because the games are must-win games.

The group stages can be an opportunity to chop and change a bit. Hopefully, we’ve shown that when games come thick and fast – as daft as it may seem – it has suited us.

I hope that it proves to be the case in the coming weeks and the final couple of months.”
