West Ham boss David Moyes is unable to confirm whether TWO key players will be involved against Seville at the London Stadium tomorrow evening (Thursday).
It had been assumed that Aaron Cresswell would be available but neither he or Mikey Antonio trained with the rest of the squad in an open Rush Green session today. Nikola Vlasic joined them.
That may of course have been because the manager wanted to give nothing away to those watching but afterwards made it clear that nothing had been decided.
With two goals required against a team that seriously knows how to defend Antonio is a near ‘must have’ player in the team despite his lack of top form.
And Cressie always provides the big attacking impetus down the left side which will be a huge miss if he is ruled out of the game.
It almost certainly means that Ben Johnson will need to switch to the left back position with Ryan Fredericks playing on the right side should he not make it.
The manager said: “I can’t confirm if Michail [Antonio] and Cresswell will be available tomorrow, because they did not train with the team today.
“They were there and they did some work with the fitness team, but we will leave it late and possibly tomorrow to give them the chance to recover.
“I don’t know how they will respond between now and tomorrow, but we have to give them the best chance to try and make it.
“But at the moment they did not train with the team today, and we all have to wait and see how they recover.
“Bowen is definitely out of the game tomorrow.”
