Report: Hammers to bid for Arsenal ace

|

West Ham are set to make an offer to sign Alexandre Lacazette, according to TEAMtalk.

The Frenchman’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and the Hammers are said to be leading the race to secure his signature.

The Irons made moves to sign a striker in the January transfer window, making moves for both Darwin Nunez and Duvan Zapata, but were unable to bring a centre-forward into the club.

Lacazette is said to be of interest to the Hammers, who are set to add a new striker in the summer.

The 30-year-old has interest from a number of clubs, with former club Lyon keen on a reunion, along with Inter Milan, AC Milan, and Aston Villa.

Lacazette has been with Arsenal since 2017 and has made a total of 197 appearances for the club, scoring 71 goals and registering 36 assists.

He has scored four times and provided seven assists this season and has regularly captained the club too since the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona.

The link has no credence to it. We play with one up top and that player needs to have power, pace and skill and can score. Lacazette is certainly not him and I dont think he would suit us as one of the 3 behind the striker as we break at speed.
